Information Septem Maria Museum focuses on the issue of water and is situated in a building depending on water.
The name "seven seas" given to this territory by the historian Pliny the Older justifies the opening in this area of a museum dealing with the history of water, that is with the relationship the various civilizations set up with water, considered both as a resource and as a problem for man.
The Museum houses in the first entrance hall a reproduction of the engraving by Filippo Cluverio, dating back to 1624, in which the area of Septem Maria was indicated. After it, the reclamation activity workshop collecting old instruments of the reclamation activity.
The central nucleus of the museum develops in the engine room of the former dewatering pump, where you can admire two very well-preserved centrifugal pumps.
The museum gives the opportunity to visit the entrance channel and the drainage channel, the dewatering machines, and the sequence of didactic panels with the history of the water civilization in Polesine, the scale model of an old pump with wheels "a schiaffo", Tavola Peutingeriana, and an ancient map of Polesine dating back to 1713.
The third section houses in its rooms pumps, old drainage tools, scale models, didactic panels, and table showcases.
